Utilizing Film to Create Real-Life Experiences
“The Residents,” a three-hour, Hollywood-quality movie, depicts the experience of a newly hired CNA, teaching empathy and giving students real-life experiences in an online setting. Broken into short episodes for easy watching throughout the interactive curriculum, the film takes viewers through a new CNA’s first few weeks of employment as she interacts with residents, family members and other staff.
Film episodes and supporting resources are organized in such a way that trainees are not overwhelmed with information. Our unique “spiraling” methodology weaves major topics into all aspects of the curriculum, enhancing knowledge retention and helping students see these key subjects from multiple angles.
The film is complemented by video interviews with real-life medical personnel, 180 bite-sized content videos, reflective posts, quizzes, practice tests, and other learning tools.
