The Institute for the Future of Aging Services predicts an 18% increase in the number of CNA jobs over the next decade. The IFAS estimates that there are approximately 75,000 current job vacancies, and this demand is exacerbated by a very high annual turnover rate – typically in excess of 45%. In fact, turnover in the first 90 to 120 days of employment can be 90% or higher.
ReadyCNA is a comprehensive cloud-based training program to prepare individuals for careers as certified nursing assistants. The program revolves around “The Residents,” a three-hour, Hollywood-quality movie that depicts the life of a newly hired CNA. The training is complimented with animated simulations, informative video interviews with real-life medical personnel, 180 content videos, quizzes, and practice tests. ReadyCNA goes beyond helping students learn required skills and achieve CNA certification. It also prepares them for the emotional and interpersonal challenges of the job – as well as its rewards.
Our unique “spiraling” methodology weaves major topics into all aspects of the curriculum.
ReadyCNA’s story-based curriculum incorporates approximately 60 hours of training. The curriculum’s centerpiece, “The Residents,” is professionally acted and shot in an actual nursing home – giving the film an authenticity lacking in other online training videos. Broken into short episodes for easy watching, the film takes viewers through the CNA’s first few weeks of employment as she interacts with residents, family members, and other staff. The storytelling format ensures learner engagement, accelerates knowledge retention, and delivers a realistic, day-to-day depiction of the challenges and rewards of the job. Clients have found the storytelling approach highly successful for trainees with a wide range of educational backgrounds.
ReadyCNA’s storytelling is complemented with a variety of resources:
Our storytelling approach to training ensures learner engagement and knowledge retention, while readying individuals for the emotional and interpersonal issues often encountered on the job
Film episodes and supporting resources are organized in such a way that trainees are not overwhelmed with information. Our unique “spiraling” methodology weaves major topics into all aspects of the curriculum, enhancing knowledge retention and helping students see these key subjects from multiple angles.
Trainees completing the program are well-prepared for certification exams, as well as the actual job itself. Because of the extensive preparation, employers have the benefit of hiring individuals who will likely stay in their jobs longer and have higher levels of engagement and job satisfaction.
